Herbert “Herb” Bellamy, Jr. is a life-long  resident of the City of Buffalo.  For the past (25) years, Herb has  served as Chairman of the Board for the Buffalo Sewer Authority.  He is  also the CEO of Buffalo’s Black Achievers, Inc.  For the past (48)  years, the Black Achievers Board of Directors have recognized  individuals in the community who demonstrate a contributing quality of  life for the African American community. During this time, over 2,000  recipients have received a Black Achievers Award. 


Another positive way that Herb is transforming portions of the East  Side of Buffalo is through serving as a developer, most notably Herb has  completed the following projects:


  • 1490 Jefferson, “Bellamy Commons” - selective  demolition and new construction of a former 66,000 sq. ft., building.,  into (30) residential units and the Black Achievers Museum.
  • 1490 Estates - the development constructed (60) senior housing units
